You don't have an idea problem.
You have an evidence problem.
You have been thinking about this for a while.
Maybe months. Maybe years. The idea keeps coming back, and you still cannot tell if it would work.
So you guess.
You guess at what people need. Then you spend six months building something nobody asked for.
You guess at how to say it. The words come out fuzzy, the person across the table nods politely, and the conversation moves on to something else.
You guess at whether you are ready. And a guess never feels like enough, so you wait.
None of that means you picked the wrong idea.
It means you have been working without evidence.
The step almost everyone skips
Most of the people I talk to who never launch are not stopped by fear. They skipped the step that would have told them their idea was going to work before they ever tried to sell it.
That step is not a business plan. It is not a logo.
It is knowing exactly where the person you want to serve is hurting.
If God gave you the idea, He also gave you neighbors who can tell you what they need. Most people skip the second part.
I guessed for years longer than I needed to
For 15 years I was the guy behind the curtain making other people money. Ministry. Sales. Marketing. Operations.
Then I went out on my own and hit a wall I did not see coming.
I knew how to grow a business that already had customers. I had no idea how to get my own first client from scratch.
I was the cobbler whose children had no shoes.
So I guessed. I built things I assumed people wanted. I rewrote my offer over and over instead of asking one person about theirs.
What finally moved me was not a better idea. It was honest conversations with real people who told me where it hurt.
I closed my first client within a month. Three thousand dollars. No funnel, no ads, just a real conversation.
I have a Master of Divinity. I served as Director of Certification at Full Focus, overseeing 500 coaches.
Neither one kept me from guessing.
Listening did.
Certainty is not what you are missing. Evidence is.
Show Me What They NeedWhat you get back
You get a picture of where the person you want to serve is hurting.
We call it your Brokenness Map.
It is a plain table. Ten places in your future customer's life and work where the pain shows up, what they would say about each one in their own words, and the chapter and verse that speaks to it.
Three more things you will know by the end of it.
What they wake up saying. A separate list of eight to ten things your customer says to themselves. Raw, first person, nothing like business language.
What they are reaching for. Area after area of brokenness, paired with the restoration on the other side of it. This is the part that shows you what becomes possible.
Where to start. Not ten projects. You will see which pair lands hardest, and you will have their words for that conversation.
How it works
Step 1. Answer five questions.
What you are good at, who you want to serve, the problem you see, the solution in your head, and how upfront you want to be about your faith.
Step 2. Get your map.
Ten areas of brokenness, in your customer's own words, with the chapter and verse behind each one.
Step 3. Know your next move.
Instead of guessing what they need, you have their words. Take those into a real conversation this week.
Randy stopped guessing
Randy Dirks came to me with a consulting business and no consistent pipeline. No podcast. No email list.
We did not start with a website. We started with the people he wanted to serve and what they were struggling with.
He built a podcast, not to grow an audience but to invite the right people into conversations.
Five months later he was at $7,700 a month.
Randy did not use this tool. It did not exist yet. What it does is start you where we started him, with the people you want to serve instead of the thing you want to build.
Find out where your people are hurting.
Show Me What They NeedBefore you start
Is it really free?
Yes, for your first 3 tries. No credit card, no trial, no card on file. You give me a name and an email so I can send your map somewhere. After your third time, you can unlock it for life for a one-time $27.
How long does it take?
Five questions, answered in your own words. No essays, no homework.
What if I am too early?
Early is the best time to run this. It is the step that comes before the website, the logo, and the offer. If you have an idea and a person in mind, you have enough.
Will you spam me?
No. You get your map, and you will hear from me after that. Every email has an unsubscribe link and I honor it the first time.
You can keep guessing, or you can ask.
You have carried this idea for a while.
The people you want to serve already know where it hurts.
They can tell you in their own words, before you build anything.
Asking them is not doubt. If the idea came from God, they came with it.
